The historical experience of the Republic of Kurdistan in Mahabad, which lasted 11 months and became a pivotal moment in the Kurdish liberation struggle, came to an end on 31 March 1947 with the execution of Qazi Muhammad (Kurdish: قازی محەممەد), Abulqasim Sadri Qazi (Kurdish: ئەبولقاسمی سەدری قازی), and Mohammad Hossein Khan Saifi Qazi (Kurdish: محەممەدحوسێن خانی سەیفی قازی). However, their memory, sacrifice, and the legacy of the Republic remain a source of inspiration for Kurdish activists, political parties, and the Kurdish people—becoming one of the iconic symbols of the Kurdish liberation movement.
Komala Party, as a people’s party active in Kurdistan’s political sphere and the first party to commemorate 2 February after the fall of the monarchy, has always carried the legacy of the Kurdish nation’s struggles. By learning from each chapter in that legacy, Komala seeks new paths for greater steps and victories ahead.
The Republic of Kurdistan, with all its experiences, achievements, and critiques, represents a national symbol for all of Kurdistan and the Kurdish nation.
We respectfully honour the memory of all the martyrs of the Republic of Kurdistan, especially Qazi Muhammad, Abulqasim Sadri Qazi, and Mohammad Hossein Khan Saifi Qazi.
